TTIP - European Parliament recommendation

The European Parliament is engaging in an in-depth discussion on recommendations to the European Commission on the negotiations for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). The leading committee is INTA but other EP committees are also providing their input. BusinessEurope issued its official comments on the draft report prepared by the EP INTA Committee Rapporteur Bernd Lange (S&D), focusing on some key issues: (a) need for a modernised investor-state dispute settlement in TTIP, (b) maintaining the current scope of the sustainability chapter, (c) looking for ambitious provisions on regulatory cooperation, (d) greater opening of markets for services, (e) ensuring all topics remain on the table of negotiations, including data flows.
