Modernising the EU-Mexico free-trade agreement

The EU and Mexico have been long-term partners and their economic relationship has been built around the free-trade agreement that is in place since 15 years. It is now time to adjust this agreement to the new trade and investment reality, to bring it more in line with the agreements the EU is planning with two other American partners: Canada and the USA. BusinessEurope Director General Markus J. Beyrer met the Mexican Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, to discuss expectations of the business community in Europe from a review of the agreement and how this could feed new life to our trade and investment relations.
