Business supports EU as a resource-efficient workplace - EU-wide 30% resource productivity target by 2030 is far too simplistic

The circular economy package published today by the European Commission is devoted to resource efficiency and productivity. But it includes a target-based approach – a 30% resource productivity target by 2030. “We fully support the vision to make the EU a more resource-efficient and competitive workplace, but a 30% target is far too simplistic to capture the complexity of resources use, production and consumption”, warned Markus J.
