10th EU-China Business Summit – Building a stronger partnership

This year marks 40 years of EU-China relations. These have proven a win-win partnership. China is now the EU's second trading partner behind the United States. The EU is China's biggest trading partner. We now trade well over 1 billion euros a day. The 10th EU-China Business Summit was an excellent opportunity to discuss how Chinese and European companies can work together to take this partnership a step further. Around 500 business leaders from China and the EU discussed possible synergies and joint projects in key areas like digital and green economy, but also looked into enhancing investment in other strategic areas that will allow our economies to be more innovative and competitive in the future. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang addressed the business summit, stressing the strong commitment from EU and Chinese leadership to promote more and better trade and investment flows between our economies. Address by BusinessEurope President Emma Marcegaglia – Joint business declaration
