We stand firmly behind the EU’s goal to reach climate neutrality by 2050 and the Paris Agreement. To reach these targets, we must ensure there is a business case to decarbonise.

As BusinessEurope, we advocate for ensuring there is an enabling framework that facilitates the path to climate neutrality by 2050 by mobilising investments, speeding up permitting andtackling the carbon-cost differential.

This framework must also increase the demand of green products and materials. We are active on several key pieces of legislations linked to the climate transition, for instance ETS, CBAM, and NZIA. Beyond this, we are active during implementation of legislation, for instance by following CBAM implementation as members of the European Commission’s expert group on CBAM. As part of our international climate policy engagement, we participate in the UN Climate Change Conferences (COPs) and engage in the process as an observer organisation to the UNFCCC.
