We are committed to meeting the EU’s energy and climate targets in a cost-effective manner while remaining internationally competitive.
In 2024, we published a comprehensive study and policy recommendations, highlighting the urgent need for a substantial scale-up of renewable and low-carbon energy
This shift is crucial for narrowing the energy price gap between the EU and non-EU countries and achieving climate neutrality. The study also forecasts that energy prices in Europe could remain significantly higher than those of our global competitors.
To maintain the competitiveness of European industry, additional policy measures are essential. These measures must be backed by a conducive regulatory framework and a scale-up of private and public investments.
Key EU initiatives, such as the Clean Industrial Deal, the Action Plan for Affordable Energy Prices and the Industrial Accelerator Decarbonisation Act, will play a vital role in driving the necessary reforms to meet our energy and climate goals.
