Sustainable finance
We believe in a sustainability reporting framework that is both effective and practical, allowing businesses to contribute meaningfully to the green transition.
We believe in a sustainability reporting framework that is both effective and practical, allowing businesses to contribute meaningfully to the green transition.
As BusinessEurope, we actively engage in key discussions at EU level on sustainable finance, advocating for clear and proportionate reporting requirements under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the EU Taxonomy. To achieve this, we are active members of both EFRAG’s Sustainability pillar and the Platform on Sustainable Finance.
Our main area of activity for the next EU cycle is to simplify the EU’s sustainability reporting frameworks, including on corporate transition plans, as to ensure that companies spend their time and resources efficiently where they are more strategically needed for the green transition. Additionally, this work contributes to the European Commission’s declared objective to reduce the regulatory burden by 25% to enhance competitiveness in Europe.
By streamlining reporting rules and making them more efficient, we support businesses and investors in making impactful decisions that drive Europe’s transition to a greener economy.
