The digital transformation of enterprises and the economy at large comes with many opportunities and with its challenges. BusinessEurope organises regular meetings among members, and with relevant EU institutions and Bodies, to facilitate knowledge and experiences exchange on how EU rules (would) impact business operation on the ground. These meetings also provide feasibility feedback based on the state-of-the-art technologies, practices, and available resources.

Less than 15% of businesses have integrated AI or Big Data solutions into their operations, which shows that legislative objectives do not necessarily translate in technology take-up. A skilled workforce is essential for this process, as the EIB points out that firms in regions where the population has above-average digital skills are more likely to have implemented advanced digital technologies.

BusinessEurope follows initiatives on AI, cyber resilience, data access and sharing rules and governance, digital services package, etc. We also participate in various EU stakeholders’ groups relevant to the digital transformation of economy.
