We must make the EU the place to invest.
Investment as a share of GDP in the EU, after falling for years, is currently lower than that of its international competitors, even if its savings rate is higher than, for instance, that in the US.
Compounding low domestic investment, net foreign direct investment flows into the EU have collapsed, going from almost 7% of EU GDP into negative numbers in just a few years: this is an indication of divestment from the EU This dangerous situation can only be addressed by improvements in the business climate and on regulatory burden.
