Over the past years, we have seen increased business and economic interest in the countries in Central Asia, such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

At the same time, a number of challenges – from connectivity to the openness of the business environment more broadly – remain and are identified as important sources of risk, leading to businesses’ reluctance to engage further and more actively in the region. BusinessEurope would like to further promote opportunities for private sector engagement in the region through the Global Gateway and bilateral initiatives.
