B7 Ottawa: Advancing economic security and resilience

It should agree on principles and avoid unilateral actions that may undermine each other’s competitiveness", stated our President Fredrik Persson at the B7 Summit, held from 14 to 16 May in Ottawa, Canada. A BusinessEurope delegation participated alongside other business organisations from G7 countries.

The B7 plays a key role in representing and aligning the views of the business community across G7 countries, delivering concrete and actionable recommendations for G7 leaders. This year, This year, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce leads the B7 presidency, aligning with Canada’s G7 presidency, to shape discussions on economic security, resilience and innovation.

You can read here the 2025 B7 Communiqué, presented at the end of the summit, and which will be delivered to the Government of Canada ahead of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta (June 15-17, 2025) to ensure the business community’s voice is heard.
