Yohann Diebolt — Junior Adviser

In BusinessEurope’s International Relations Department, Yohann Diebolt works on EU trade policy and geoeconomic issues. He is responsible for market access policies (including international public procurement instruments), the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), customs policy, trade defence instruments (including the new tariff-rate quotas), as well as EU relations with several Asia-Pacific countries such as India and Vietnam. He also works on WTO-related issues and regulations like the EU Forced Labour Regulation and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Prior to joining, Yohann gained experience through traineeships at both BusinessEurope and Damien MARY law firm in Paris. Yohann graduated from the Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan and the Free University of Brussels with a double Master’s degree in international relations; from the Aix-Marseille University in France with a Master’s degree in European studies; and from the Paris-X University with a Bachelor’s degree in law. His academic work mainly focused on the rise of geoeconomic and economic security challenges, the EU-Japan strategic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as on the implications of the US-China trade rivalry for the EU. A French national, Yohann speaks English fluently, understands Spanish and is learning Japanese.
