Public consultation on the Digital Fairness Act (DFA) – a BusinessEurope position paper
Documents
Introduction
BusinessEurope welcomes the public consultation on the Digital Fairness Act and takes this opportunity to provide input. At a time when the EU is undertaking crucial work on competitiveness and simplification, it is important to maintain incentives for companies to continue innovating and growing in a legally certain and predictable environment, while maintaining the high level of protection to European consumers in an increasingly online world. We remain committed to ensuring that European companies and consumers can equally benefit from a well-functioning Single Market, where all actors that operate in the Union (EU or non-EU) play by the same rules, and consumers are equally protected, no matter who provides the products and services they purchase. This paper outlines our main principles for a balanced Digital Fairness Act in line with BusinessEurope Consumer Policy Priorities and our reply to the recent Consultation on the future Consumer Agenda 2025-30. The second part of the paper replies to the Commission’s online questionnaire.
