eDeclaration: Long-awaited agreement must be swiftly endorsed
After over four years of intense discussions, an agreement on the digital tool to simplify the notification process for companies posting workers within the Single Market – the so-called eDeclaration – was reached by the Council and the European Parliament last night. BusinessEurope Director General Markus J. Beyrer said:
“Last night’s agreement on the long-awaited eDeclaration is positive news for businesses across Europe. Digitalising notification procedures for companies posting workers to another EU country will make it easier for businesses to operate across the Single Market. Now, it is crucial that eDeclaration is swiftly deployed.
The use of the eDeclaration is voluntary for Member States. However, the wider its uptake, the greater the benefits for companies in their day-to-day operations. We therefore urge all Member States’ governments to take the necessary measures to enable the use of the eDeclaration in their country.”
