We need better regulation to move ahead
850 new regulatory obligations directed towards companies, representing more than 5,000 pages of legislation, have been produced during the last 5 years at EU level. “This is not the way you make Europe competitive”, highlighted our President Fredrik Persson at the opening ceremony of the European Forum for New Ideas on 11 October in Sopot, Poland.
Organised by our Polish member federation Lewiatan, EFNI gathered business representatives, leaders, policy-makers and authorities to discuss the most important challenges for business and societies in a changing world, global trends and the future shape of the EU.
Our Director General Markus J. Beyrer made a closing speech at the event and underlined that the best way for Europe to deal with geopolitical challenges is to regain our economic strength by improving the attractiveness of our business location.
