Tripartite Social Summit: A stronger Europe for enterprises and workers
Our Director General Markus J. Beyrer led our delegation at the Tripartite Social Summit on 22 October, chaired by Council President Antonio Costa and Commission President Ursula von der Leyen with Executive Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu, Danish Employment Minister Kaare Dybvad Bek, and EU social partners. Beyrer acknowledged the EU’s initiatives to boost competitiveness and simplify regulations but emphasised the growing urgency to deliver concrete measures that make a real difference for companies on the ground.
At the summit and during the press conference that followed, Beyrer underlined the need to accelerate regulatory simplification, secure affordable energy, and focus on the enabling conditions. He also called for maintaining European unity to defend the EU’s strategic and economic interests globally, and stressed that quality jobs depend on innovative and competitive companies. "A competitive economy with strong European companies is essential to achieve all European ambitions", he concluded.
