"Europe won’t meet any of its goals, including security and defence, without a strong industrial base", said BusinessEurope Director General Markus J. Beyrer, speaking at the 2025 Salzburg Summit. "A competitive  defence and security industry can be a key element", he added, "but we need to get the framework right: unleash the single market, boost innovation and cut red tape."
