Introductory remarks at Forum Europa

BusinessEurope Director General Markus J. Beyrer delivered introductory remarks for European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, Jessika Roswall, at Forum Europa in Brussels. “Competitiveness and sustainability are not opposing goals. They can, and must, reinforce each other”, he stressed. To make this a reality, EU businesses need for a framework that enables competitive companies to invest in Europe and in the green transition. Beyrer stated that BusinessEurope strongly supports the simplification efforts in the various Omnibus proposals tabled so far and looks forward to an ambitious Environmental Omnibus expected in the near future.
