The EU-Mercosur agreement’s potential to strengthen industrial cooperation was the focus of the EU-Brazil Industrial Partnership Forum, co-organised by BusinessEurope and ApexBrasil in Brussels.

“We think the EU-Mercosur agreement is a platform to bring the partnership to a new level”, said our Deputy Director General Luisa Santos. She stressed that the agreement can offer companies greater stability in an increasingly uncertain world. Demonstrating its concrete benefits will be essential to building support for European Parliament approval.

Business representatives shared practical examples of cooperation in advanced manufacturing, sustainable energy, critical raw materials and technology.

With contributions also from ApexBrasil President Laudemir Müller, Brazilian Ambassadors Pedro Miguel da Costa e Silva and Roberto Jaguaribe, and Bernd Biervert, Head of Cabinet of Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič, the forum explored how to translate this potential into lasting business partnerships.
