BusinessEurope’s SME Roadshow. Sixth stop Porto.

SMEs and entrepreneurship

Backing Europe’s SMEs: from growth to scale

BusinessEurope is hosting the “SME Roadshow” in Porto on 7 May 2026. This event marks the sixth stop in a series dedicated to addressing SME issues across the EU, this time organised together with the Confederação Empresarial de Portugal (CIP).

The roadshow will focus on one of the key challenges facing European companies today: ensuring that SMEs have the right conditions to grow, scale and compete globally. In particular, discussions will place a strong emphasis on access to finance, exploring how European and national financial instruments can better support SME investment, innovation and internationalisation. The event will also address existing financing gaps, the role of public and private financial institutions, and the need to develop more effective tools to help SMEs scale up in an increasingly competitive global environment.

This in-person event will gather key representatives from European and national institutions, along with SMEs and entrepreneurs from throughout Europe, for a crucial discussion on the priorities that EU policymakers should emphasize during their mandate.
