Banks’ competitiveness: EU’s agenda for a more integrated, efficient and competitive banking sector

Economy and competitivenessFinancial affairs

A competitive and efficient EU banking sector is essential to Europe’s economic future. European companies will continue to rely heavily on bank financing in the years ahead, therefore it is crucial that banks can provide funding on competitive terms, support businesses of all sizes and contribute to Europe’s investment and growth ambitions.

Following the publication of the European Commission’s Communication on the competitiveness of the EU banking sector, BusinessEurope and the European Banking Federation (EBF) are pleased to invite you to a high-level discussion bringing together policymakers, leaders in the banking sector and the wider business community. The event will explore how Europe can build a more integrated, efficient and competitive banking sector – the one that strengthens banks’ capacity to finance the European economy while safeguarding financial stability and ensuring a global level playing field.
