Still lacking consistent reform across Europe - BusinessEurope's Reform Barometer Spring 2015
Results from BusinessEurope member federations provide a stark warning regarding the continuing lack of consistent reform implementation across the EU. Released on 18 March 2015, BusinessEurope Reform Barometer Spring 2015 shows that only 22% of the European Commission’s recommended national-level reforms have been followed by satisfactory implementation, compared with 23% in 2014. With less than a quarter of reforms being progressed, the EU continues to lag behind major economies in terms of competitiveness. The BusinessEurope Reform Barometer is compiled with analysis from national business federations across Europe who assess progress made by their respective governments in driving structural reforms. While individual country assessments differ, the Reform Barometer presents the aggregate figures. This year, it includes an additional focus on EU’s performance in the digital economy.
