Historic election of Commission president in Strasbourg

On a trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Director General Markus J. Beyrer gave a number of interviews. His main message was a positive one, congratulating Jean-Claude Juncker on his election as next president of the European Commission, and welcoming the newly elected MEPs. But he also clearly reminded all decision-makers that it is now crunch time for action both at European and at national level. Markus called for the next Commission to be leaner and meaner and focus on all growth-enhancing measures.
