Business says agreement on TTIP must bring meaningful results

On March 24th 2014 Luisa Santos, Director for International Relations, spoke at a seminar organised by FEB, AmCham Belgium and ICC Belgium on “the challenges and perspectives of TTIP”. The event allowed for an open exchange of views between those supporting and those critical of the agreement. BusinessEurope once more stressed the need to avoid carve-outs to ensure that the agreement maintains its comprehensiveness and brings about meaningful results. Important issues like energy or investment protection, including investor-to-state-dispute settlement (ISDS), should be included in TTIP to ensure the EU and US set a benchmark that can be used as a blueprint for future agreements.
