VAT – Definitive regime - Future challenges

Thursday, 24 October 2019 (10.00 - 16.30 CET)
Venue: Coca-Cola Services N.V. | Chaussée de Mons 1424, 1070 Brussels
Deadline for registration: Monday 21 October 2019

How do we modernise the VAT system to cope with the changing economy, the “servitisation” of the economy and the commercial reality of today? The current VAT system was designed 50 years ago and needs an overhaul – hopefully an overhaul that will create a stable platform for the next 50 years.

BusinessEurope and DI would like to bring commercial perspectives and understanding into the debate in order to ensure we modernise the VAT system in a way that supports growth, simplicity, sustainability while being robust enough to safeguard VAT revenue.

Our VAT talk on the definite regime is envisaged to create a platform to discuss and gain a common understanding of the commercial challenges and changes – and what role these changes will play in the area of VAT.

Our main topics of discussion during the day will be:

  • Understanding the commercial reality of today … and of tomorrow
  • Understanding concepts such as “servitisation”
  • Impact of VAT design on growth and sustainability

The event aims at attendees with VAT background from the European Commission, EU Member States and businesses.
