Martijn is a Junior Adviser working on macro-economic policy and economic governance. Prior to this, Martijn worked as a trainee in the European Commission (DG GROW) and gained work experience in the field of policy analysis and research in the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Ukraine. 

Martijn graduated from Leiden University (Netherlands), completing an Advanced MSc in international relations and diplomacy as well as an MA in Russian and Eurasian studies. He completed his bachelor studies in European economics and political science at the University of Bamberg (Germany), including a year of studying economics at Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia). His mother tongue is Dutch, and he fluently speaks English, German, Russian, and Slovak. Additionally, he has an intermediate command of French and a basic command of Ukrainian.
