Industrial permitting in Europe - Online workshop

Industrial permitting is a matter of strategic importance for companies in their development and transformation, and to deliver on the green and digital goals, which has become even more relevant in the context of the current economic headwinds and geopolitical tensions. It is therefore crucial to accelerate permitting procedures to maintain competitiveness of businesses in Europe. If some progress at the European level has been made for instance in the field of renewable energies, the overall situation for industry remains very patchy. Against this background, BusinessEurope is currently conducting a SWOT analysis on industrial permitting in Europe with the objective of building a solid common understanding of this critical issue.

As part of this project, BusinessEurope organises an online workshop to discuss, with the European Commission and national permitting authorities, the strengths and weaknesses of industrial permitting in Europe. The European Commission will provide an insight of the EU perspective and member states representatives on the difficulties faced, as well as good practices in their country.
